Recently, Guikuang Ore Grinding Mill Machine received a technical consultation from customers on the grinding and milling of silty clay, requiring grinding of silty clay with a moisture content of 50% and a fineness of 325 mesh. Guikuang’s clay Raymond mill, clay vertical mill, and clay ultra-fine mill are all dry grinding. For grinding of silty clay with high moisture content, the material needs to be dried first. Then grind it into powder. Nowadays, there are more and more silty clay processing enterprises, so what is the use value of silty clay?

Silty clay (Q4al): yellowish-brown; hard plastic; mainly clay and silt, containing a small amount of kaolin, slightly glossy, not obvious bedding characteristics, no shaking response, high dry strength, medium toughness. This layer is distributed throughout the site, with a thickness of 5.0~6.5m and a bottom elevation of 80.35~86.44m. Silty clay is a cohesive soil with a plasticity index between 10 and 17 according to the GB50007–2002 specification; or according to the 1962 regulations of the Ministry of Water Resources and Electric Power, the clay content is 30% to 50%, and the content of the silt group is greater than that of the sand group content of clay. The silty clay can be widely used in building materials and construction industries after being dried and then ground.
