Since the mid-1990s, with the development of new wear-resistant materials and the continuous improvement of vertical grinding technology, developed countries such as Germany and Japan have taken the lead in using vertical mill to grind slag and achieved success. Compared with other grinding systems, slag vertical mill integrates drying, grinding and powder separation together, which has the advantages of simple system and high efficiency. For grinding materials with high moisture content, there is no need to set drying equipment. Therefore, the investment and maintenance cost of the system is low, the operation reliability is high, and the grinding power consumption is low. The unit power consumption when grinding 420 m2/kg slag powder with specific surface area is about 40-45 kWh/t, and the shape of grinding products is better than that of other grinding systems. Therefore, under the same specific surface area, the product performance is better. Over the past decade, the application shows that slag vertical grinding mill is a mature and advanced slag grinding technology.
